Of all the various types of boats on the market, pontoon boats are one of the best models for entertaining your friends and family. Their comfortable seats, spacious and flat decks, and additional fun features make pontoons a popular choice for people who love to go out on the water with their loved ones and have a good time. Here’s how to prepare for a gathering or party on your pontoon boat.

Decorations

Lightweight decorations are probably your best bet for your pontoon boat. Paper or plastic garlands are an excellent choice, since they can be put up anywhere without much trouble. Try to theme your napkins, plates, and cutlery with your decorations to really make your party pop!

Food & Drink

Easy-to-handle food is good, like finger foods and sandwiches. You could also make your event a potluck and have guests bring a dish to share. Have plenty of disposable paper plates and plastic cutlery handy, along with paper towels and napkins to clean up the mess. Preparing foods ahead of time is your best strategy, so cut up fruits and veggies and mix up salads at home. If you have a boat grill, try to cut and season your meats at home so you can just toss them on the grill without having to do a lot of prep work.

Bottled or canned drinks in a cooler are probably the easiest type of beverage to serve on a boat. However, you could mix up a pitcher of lemonade or iced tea for your event and serve it from a large drink dispenser, too.

Cleaning Up

Keep a trash can and a container for recyclables handy on your boat. Make sure both containers have lids so that none of your refuse blows out on the water. Spray cleaner, paper towels, and a broom with a dustpan will help you make quick work of cleaning up after your party is over.
